Overview
The Jebel Saghro is a hidden gem, a stark and beautiful world of volcanic mesas and deep canyons that feel more like the American Southwest than typical Morocco. It is the ancestral winter home of the Aït Atta nomads, who you’ll see herding their flocks of goats and camels.
This moderate trek offers wide horizons, manageable altitudes, and some of the most dramatic geology in the country. As we hike through the Valley of the Birds and past the Bab n'Ali rock towers, you’ll understand why this region is a favorite for those seeking silence and space. It connects perfectly with the themes of our Sahara Desert guide.
